Where Is Mediation Most Appropriate?

Since mediation is a facilitated negotiation and the parties retain their own ability to make decisions mediation has very few risks for potential litigants. We like to think that mediation is almost always appropriate. Mediation is most appropriate when there is a potential for a continued relationship between the parties.
